Dispute Services
HCT Construction Consultants offer a range of Dispute Services from Dispute Avoidance to Dispute Resolution.
Even with the best procedures in place the complexity of construction projects mean that relationships can break down and disputes can occur.
We can offer impartial advice on potential disputes before they crystallize and can also offer full assistance if disputes do actually arise.
Principal Designer
CDM 2015 was introduced April 2015 and makes significant changes to the Construction Design and Management Regulations (previously CDM 2007).
The role of CDM co-ordinator (CDMC) has been replaced by a new role of “Principal Designer” under the new regulations. The Principal Designer has the responsibility for managing the health, safety and welfare of projects from pre-construction to ongoing design.
CDM applies to all building and construction work and includes new build, demolition, refurbishment, extensions, conversions, repair and maintenance.
Our primary function in this role is to act as the Client’s key project advisor in respect of construction health and safety risk management, and manage the flow of health and safety information between clients, designers and contractors.
Fund Monitoring
HCT Construction Consultants performs the role of Monitoring Surveyor and currently works with many of the ‘high street’ lenders as well as specialist construction finance companies.
Successful monitoring of any development relies upon experienced surveyors with a good understanding of procurement, design and construction. As a result of our extensive background in Quantity Surveying we are well equipped to provide a Fund Monitoring Service and provide lenders with an independent auditing and financial tracking service on a variety of projects.
Party Wall Surveying
HCT Construction Consultants can act for either building’s owners or adjoining owners.
When acting for the building’s owner we can advise on all the necessary Party Wall notices, and arrange for them to be drawn up and served. We ensure that all notices are issued in accordance with the provisions of the Party Wall Act of 1996.
When acting for an adjoining owner, we can arrange for all Party Wall notices to be sent direct to our offices enabling us to act promptly when issuing counter notices. We will also attend meetings and facilitate until an agreement is reached.
Project Management
HCT Construction Consultants provide a total Project Management service for building projects.
We have the experience and expertise to offer a customer focused efficient service from inception to completion.
A strong emphasis is placed on understanding the client’s particular requirements and in particular agreeing a clear and comprehensive brief with accurately defined objectives.
HCT Construction Consultants can provide Project Management, Project Co-ordination, Contract Administration and Client Representative services.
Builders Quantities & Estimating Support
HCT Construction Consultants have an enviable reputation for producing accurate Bills of Quantities for contractors estimating departments, on time, every time.
We already partner with a national contractor producing all of the Bills of Quantities for their framework projects.
As a result of our extensive background in Quantity Surveying we are able to produce simple quantities through to full SMM7 Bills of Quantities.
We use specialist software to produce Bills of Quantities that can be transferred electronically into most estimating packages as well as the more standard Microsoft Excel.
Quantity Surveying - Cost Consultants
HCT Construction Consultants place particular emphasis on pro-active cost planning, control, monitoring and reporting of project costs. The intention is to cost forecast, not just cost report.
Our Quantity Surveyors participate constructively in the design and construction process and strive to offer a valuable contribution to the successful outcome of every project.
We have a proven track record in many different procurement routes and can offer expert advice tailored to the needs of each project.
In addition to the provision of traditional pre and post contract Quantity Surveying duties, we also offer services such as fire damage valuations for insurance purposes.
